Banjo Connector

Banjo Connectors

• In actuality, a banjo fitting is also known as an internally relieved bolt, a spherical union for fluid transfer, or a hose connecting bolt. It is usually used to attach a rigid, internally threaded hydraulic component to a fluid line.

• In order to create a fluid channel between the exterior ports on the union and bolt, the bolt is constructed through the centre of the union, typically with face seals on either side of the union. It is possible to attach a rigid pipe or a flexible hose to the union port.

• The fitting's primary benefit lies in high pressure applications, meaning pressures greater than 50 bar. The fitting's name originates from its shape, which resembles a banjo in general and consists of a wide circular piece attached to a thinner pipe.
